After the short Saône stage, Day 3 feels more Burgundian. From Tournus, the route keeps running north on flat ground, often close to the river, with meadows, poplar rows and small waterside villages. Chalon-sur-Saône adds quays, old streets and the shift towards the Canal du Centre. From there, the scenery changes: the road enters the Côte Chalonnaise, passing wine villages, limestone slopes and vineyards around Givry, Mercurey and Rully. Via Chagny and the villages of the Côte de Beaune, the stage rolls into Beaune, with walls, Hospices and wine cellars at the finish.
