From Salacgrīva, the road runs through Kuiviži to Ainaži and crosses into Estonia at Ikla. The coastal stretch continues through Treimani and Kabli, passing timber houses, gardens and pine trees. At Kabli, the sandy beach lies immediately beside the route, with shallow water and coastal meadows facing the Gulf of Riga. Beyond Häädemeeste, the ride turns inland. Longer stretches of woodland around Soometsa alternate with meadows and isolated farmsteads before the approach through the Uulu area and Paikuse. The destination is Sindi on the Pärnu River, a town whose development grew around its textile industry. Almost level throughout, this approximately 80-kilometre stage moves from the open coastal fringe into the wooded countryside of southern Estonia.
