The route starts in the French capital, passes Senlis, Compiègne and Saint-Quentin, then enters Paris–Roubaix country with the Trouée d’Arenberg, Roubaix and the Roubaix velodrome as true Classics landmarks. From there, it moves into Flanders with climbs such as Oude Kwaremont, Paterberg, Koppenberg and Taaienberg, before continuing through Brussels, the rolling country towards Liège and across the German border.
