from Lincoln
to Penrith
E-Bike: 7h 36 / day
Bike: 10h 03 / day
This 2-day cycling tour from Lincoln to Penrith crosses northern England from the flatlands of Lincolnshire over the Trent, Ouse and Wharfe to the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, then over the Pennines into the Eden Valley. The first stage is long, open and often exposed to wind, with small villages, farm roads, hedgerows and a clear climb to the finish in Grewelthorpe. On day two, the route becomes rougher: Masham, Richmond, Bowes and Stainmore mark the shift from green valleys to moorland, high roads and the Pennine watershed. After that, the ride rolls via Brough and Appleby into Penrith. A compact but demanding England cycling tour with long distances, historic market towns, exposed high ground and clear landscape changes.
