Between Bogen and Passau, the Danube gives this stage its direction. Bogenberg sits behind the start, then the route moves through the wide lowlands at the foot of the Bavarian Forest. Small villages, floodplain sections and open fields lead towards Deggendorf, where the town square, riverfront and views to the first forested hills shape the middle of the day. Beyond Deggendorf, the road keeps following the river: Niederalteich with its large Benedictine abbey, quiet riverside stretches, then Vilshofen with its old town close to the Danube. The final kilometres pass Windorf and smaller river villages before reaching Passau. At the finish, the Danube, Inn and Ilz meet — a strong ending to a flat, water-led stage.
