From Sanremo, the route continues along the Ligurian coast. Bordighera and Ventimiglia come early, and after that France is close. Beyond the border, the road becomes narrower, busier and more urban. Menton, Roquebrune-Cap-Martin and Monaco sit directly on the route, with tunnels, coastal traffic and regular glimpses of the sea. After Monaco, the Col d’Èze is the final major climb of the tour. From the top, Nice comes into view before the road drops down to the Promenade des Anglais. This is where the stage and the tour end.
