Description

This 8-day cycling tour links Sicily, Malta and Gozo into one compact Mediterranean route with clear contrasts: Catania and Siracusa, flat coastal roads in southeastern Sicily, the ferry to Valletta, Malta’s stone walls and upland roads, Gozo with Victoria, Marsalforn and the Cittadella, then Ragusa, Caltagirone and the long climb toward Mount Etna. This is not just a seaside cycling holiday. The route shifts between coast, Baroque towns, ferry crossings, farmland, volcanic slopes and busy city approaches. For riders who want to explore Sicily and Malta by road bike, gravel bike or touring bike, it offers real progression from place to place instead of a loop around the obvious highlights. Further south, the riding becomes quieter: lagoons, dunes, low vegetation and small fishing villages set the rhythm before the ferry crossings change the character of the tour. On Malta, the cycling becomes denser and more technical. Expect more ...
